Manukahd® & Manukahd® Lite is a super absorbent gelling fiber dressing with Manukamed active medical-grade Manuka honey. A hydrocolloid surface coating (Dri-Touch™ technology) on the pad combines with exudates to produce a non-adherent wound interface that facilitates the sustained release of Manuka honey. The dressing will maintain a balanced moist environment conducive to wound healing. Using honey on wounds can result in the rapid reduction in malodour. The high sugar levels in the honey result in osmotic pressure which helps to promote autolytic debridement of necrotic tissue. Manukahd® can be used for partial or full thickness wounds.
